Our alumni of M.Sc 2000 batch, Ms Subarna Bhattachrayya, who is at present working with ENVIS Centre of Environmental Biotechnology, University of Kalyani presented a poster named "Removal of mercury using resistant bacteria isolated from East Calcutta Wetlands, Kolkata" in Science Congress, 2008 under Environmental Science division. This poster was awarded with the "best poster award" in this conference.

Soumyadeep Mukherjee (Tublu - M.Sc 2007 batch) is associated with a research group developing an in-situ groundwater arsenic treatment technology called SAR Technology is gaining international recognition very fast.
2010 May: The SAR arsenic research team has won highly prestigious The St Andrews Prize for the Environment in 2010. Queen’s University Belfast and lead Indian partner National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur will design and set up more treatment plants in future with the assistance of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, Calcutta.
2010 April: SAR Technology has been selected to attend the World Bank "INNOVATION FAIR: Moving Beyond Conflict" in Cape Town, South Africa from April 12-15 2010. The World Bank’s panel of experts selected about 30 projects from 230 project proposals world wide to attend the event. The World Bank Innovation fair is focused on identifying high-impact grassroots innovations that indicate effective means of building the relationship between citizens and their state in fragile and conflict-affected states.

2006: The SAR Project was the Winner of the Development Marketplace Global Competition, 2006, hosted by the World Bank.
2004: The SAR Technology was selected by European Union Asia Pro-Eco Programme for TiPOT Project.
